I just point-welded -as an experiment- another 30x30x1.5 under the rear tube. The rear tube was already a 30x30x1.5... So the total height is now 60mm.

The frame stiffness has become much better! 8-o

How long is this frame section?

A very floppy 0.5m :-\

It doesn't sound long, but it is in the middle, so every bending in that part is extrapolated to the BB...

I wonder if the python owners that installed a suspension just assume their bike is stiff, because they attribute movements to their suspension working >:)

I can't check it on my flevo, becuase its robbed of its most important parts, lying there, gutted on the attic.

The 30x30x1.5 that I now welded on isn't going to stay there. I plan to replace it with a seat-stay tube about 50mm below the main tube.

Have you considered welding/brazing 1.5 sheet metal on the vertical sides of the tube?

I am then still afraid that this won't be rigid enough. I can test it out by welding the "helper" tube sidelong to it and see what happens. This is quickly checked.

...have to dash, the workshop opens again at 1600 again! ;-)
