The ignition key serves as a emercency stop.It also has a throttle, so there
_should_ be no problems. I'm sure the regulator is expecting both throttle
input and crank motion before it delivers any power to the motor. There are
freewheel cranks available, but I'm starting with what I have lying around,
and I'm not too worried about the motordrive of the cranks - it should give
a max. cadence of 90rpm.
It's not legal i Denmark to have assist without pedalling, and max. assist
to 25km/h. I'm tweaking that as much as I can to make it a viable
alternative to the car :-) I'm going for 35-40km/h on the flats - nothing
more than I achieve on my Optima Baron.
cheers,
Torben

Hoi Torben,
On your website it says that the motor starts working when pedalling +
the motor actually drives the cranks!! That is a recursion. Aren't you
affraid the bike will start off without you by accident? ;-) Seems like
a dangerous feature to me, why not just a start/stop switch?
Interesting project otherwise!
groetjes,
Dirk
PS: my current commuting distance is only 10 meters... :^)
