[python] Re: brazing aluminum ??

Comments from a friend - It's possible but tricky:
We actually did aluminum brazing at the course last year. It is possible, but 
VERY, VERY, ****VERY**** tricky. You must keep the flame moving steadily, watch 
the flux carefully, and feed the rod smoothly, in a non-stopping, sweeping 
motion. Heat, heat, watch flux, heat, watch flux, heat, flux melts, heat, try 
feeding rod, heat, rod melts, heat, keep rod moving, heat, flux is working, rod 
is flowing, GREAT, flow rod……. DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pile of *MISSING* Aluminum 
plate, along with a pile of aluminum that looks like an exploded pop can. 
HMMmmmmm, lets try again. 4 busted aluminum pop cans later, I am thinking I am 
mentally deficient. As I try to sneak my mess to the garbage can, a guy comes 
at me holding a melted, exploded pop can in his pliers and asks if I got it to 
work. I laughed and showed him my 6th attempt. We wandered around the class and 
determined that the instructor was the only one to be able to accomplish this 
task. We asked him to show us again, he did and (HAAAAA-haaa), he turned the 
plate into chrapnel this time, too.


I gave up.
