If the _wire_ is what's giving the strength of the joint, one might as well go
for mere soldering, which would definitely wet out, likely be cheaper and be
possible at lower temps.
The wikipedia article and the mentioned brazing book are good on this, I think,
but the technique suggested here is a low-tech, non-conventional one, whose
strength seems to me to hinge on the wire wrapping. I suspect that it might be
okay for a while, but that the periodicity of tortion loading will adversely
effect system integrity leading to relatively sudden catastrophic failure,
which may or may not include sufficient visible warning signs to avoid accident
while underway. My suggestion: don't use it for anything beyond proof or
concept or geometry.
I'm not competent to comment on strength issues, however.
Since my degrees are in languages and theology, it might be good to get one of
the house engineers to comment. ;-)
