I'm not Jürgen, but I don't think it helps. There's plenty to do with
focusing on the seat contact and the smooth pedalling. You don't need extra
hardware to attend to, but OTOH holding the arms out can help in crises
while riding. Just look at a unicyclist performing - they use the arms to
change direction.
