[python] Tubing/welding

Hello all,
I am a new member and thrilled by the thought of building a Python. My metal 
work experience is minimal and I have a few questions:
I am unable to find (here in Oslo, Norway) tubing in the size 40x10x1,5 mm. 
40x20x1,5 and 30x20x1,5 are available. What to choose?
Secondly: I have an extremely simple buzz box type welding machine. Would it be 
sufficient or do I need the fancy stuff?
