The front tyre must be pointing in the same direction as Gerald, most of the time, because where it goes, Gerald follows. It isn't like the front tyres on a car or a tadpole trike, which can scrub out quickly if the toe-in is wrong. And some trikes have front wheels set up with a few degrees of negative camber. There's no good reason for using negative camber, but the tyres don't wear out very badly, just a bit off-centre. If the tyre was new (as Gerald implies) it was probably defective. I have noticed a few home-made recumbents with used tyres, some of them very old and perished. In Australian conditions, tyres can suffer severe ultra-violet damage if they are exposed to the sun for a few years, and then don't last long in use. Cyclists too, but that's another story. ============================================================ This is the Python Mailinglist //www.freelists.org/list/python Listmaster: Jürgen Mages jmages@xxxxxx To unsubscribe send an empty mail to python-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the subject field. ============================================================
