[python] Re: Suspension

Do not overestimate the Python Delta. The one I build for my wife and
daughter is great for shopping and cruising around. The construction
is very simple and besides the deltas here

http://www.velomobil.nm.ru/russian_experience/tambovs_fwd/

maybe the simplest way to build a trike. BUT the price is a really
poor performance if you want to go fast around corners or if you have
lots of potholes and bumps along the road.

Cheers to sunny SA,
Jürgen.

Siwmae Jurgen a bawb!

I have some questions about your post, excerpted above:

1) Can anyone translate the Russian text into English? I'd love to read the commentary.

2) With the axis of articulation between the front and rear parts of the Russian trikes so far ahead of the hips of the riders, and with positive trail (it seems) has anyone any idea of the PSI effect, if any? Or will Jurgen Maier's A>B or A=B rule apply here to prevent PSI?

3) Any pictures of your Python Delta, Jurgen?

And whilst I'm asking for information, can I get more inf/pix about the Python PX5 from anywhere. Do I understand the picture right in the 'Modification and Ideas' section: Is the rider really sitting on the front half of the bike, like with the Kalle recumbent? And how does it ride?

As I'm sure many other home-builders must have realised before me, in order to try out all the things I want to with a special recumbent, I think I shall have to build several, for different purposes. I'm getting tooled up for that right now. My real priority, though, is an all-year alleweder worker, which can carry a reasonable freight load besides me, and operate in the rainy, mountainous land of Gwynedd, in Cymru, so that I can become personally car-free, and only have to use motor vehicles just occasionally. Incidentally, I don't mind about slow cornering and pot-holes.
