Thank you for your kind replies. Yes, leaving it unpainted is a nice idea.
What (other) view of the pivot point are you interested in? The pivot is made
of
two rod ends, but I covered them with rubber caps. Through the rod ends goes a
M12 threaded axle fixed with two nuts and Loctite. Recently somebody told me
this was a bit weak, but I think it's ok and I see more people using it.
