hi listies,
first of all i didn't even try to ride my carbon-python for about 6
month. there are so many things to do with higher priority - bad luck.
the laaanglieger-picture should not be used for measuring, because the
bike is not mounted. the angle is round about 70 deg.
i can't compare my bike to any other, since i know them only from pictures.
i plan to take some driving lesson within the next weeks - it's getting
summer ...
i will write to the list, if there are any news and new riding experiences.
regards, stefan

Hello;
I measured from the front part of Stefans Carbon Python at

- it seems to be just under 60 degrees, if his steering BB is exactly at
a right angle to the front part. I hope Stefan would tell us about his
riding experience compared to Jürgen and Peters'.
Also I want to get started building my own; and I need to make some
drawings before. Has anybody made some drawings already, that
I could use as a base?
My inseam is 85cm; that means I should go for 26 inch tires, right?
How far should the crank center be from the wheel center to avoid
kollisions with the derailleur?
Is it a good idea to use non-straight crank arms like the ridiculous
"drawing" below to get the feet further away from the derailleur?

Now that Peter and I have two pythons to compare,
we exchanged our bikes and made some discoveries
concerning the steering angle.
Mine has exactly 67 degrees and Peter´s approx.
75 degrees (by guessing).
Peter tried my bike and it was easier for him to
ride. I tried his bike and could ride it, but I felt
it was more agile than mine and I had problems
with sharp turns.
The latter effect might possibly disappear with
practice, but so far I would recommend to make
the steering angle not too steep.
On the other hand do not make the angle too flat
because the wheel flop will become too strong.
As a conclusion I would recommend a steering
angle between 65 and 70 degrees.
Jürgen.
