[python] Re: RE : RE : Re: Python trike ideas

Hello Trikies,

after one year of riding the pythonbased trike an update:

dimensions are still:

length = 165 cm
wheelbase = 105 cm
width = 65 cm
pivot angle = 68 degrees
frontwheel= 20 inch
rearwheels = 24 inch (wheelchair)
turningcircle = 450 cm
ground clearance = 12 cm
main tube = 35x35x1,5
fronttubing = 30x10x1,5
gearing = Nexus 7 speed

steady at any speed (from 1 kmph-to 39 kmph (max. speed so far with strong
tailwind); no wobbling; turning (45 degrees) > 24 kmph risk turning over (due
to small width?). Easy to ride with no-hands; easy to handle at small speed in
tight corners due to (later assembled) handlebars.

Only disadvantage is tipping over at high-speed cornering (could be fun too
;-)).

Have fun.

The self centering effect does NOT depend on the seat and CoG height,
but on the negative trail and the angle of the steering pivot.

Yes, the longer wheelbase (+15cm) cured everything.

Jürgen.
