And - shame on me - have not even made a single cut. 

There is always a tendency to overplan things.

If it is your first experience with welding and building,
just get yourself some scrap parts from the nearest
junkyard and sizzle them together to something
pythonesque which is reasonably rideable.

This "monster python" will weight 25 kg and will
be as ugly as can be, but you have something to make
riding experiments with, and you have a lot more
building skill than before.

The making of your second prototype will be much easier
and your third will be perfect ...
