Sounds reasonable, and I did just search and find

Windows' charmap.exe does show the codes for ü and û, but not that upside-down
û-thing, thus the question.

I wish I knew where the g-g-grandfather was from (grandpa was born here); I
only know it was Prussia and he was a very young merchant marine who jumped
ship in Wisconsin ~1865. It is one of the things that I want to find out before
I make my next European trip.
