[python] Re: New Rollout "Swamp Snake"

Hi Jeff,

Welcome!

I have only made 4-5 pedal revolutions before crashing. After a few crashes I added the training wheels, but I don't yet know if they will help or hinder the learning process. The weather here in Illinois has turned winter, so I will have plenty of time to finish up the front end.

So ride on the ice! I used to in Oak Lawn.

What do you experienced pilots think about my over seat steering?
My real plan for handlebars is to install them in the stem that is serving as the center pivot.

I tried almost that same geometry of handlebars - it is impossible to ride, as far as I can tell. I was first able to ride a bit with out them, then added them as a test; the arm/shoulder force completely counter-acts the hip movements when turning. Much worse than under-seat bars... I never even made it across the alley.

Well, I wonder how well it will ride? Can you tell from the specs how it might handle? I am looking for tips on learing to ride this beast.

The BB is a bit high; you'll find that the front wants to flop to the side easily. The high-ish seat bottom helped me in learning, and a less reclined seat would help too. See previous posts here about balancing pencils vs broomsticks.
I think the red wheels might help for the first few minutes worth of practice riding, and help acclimate your legs to steering without acclimating you rear to the cement. Find a parking lot or tennis court.
Learning to leg-only steer is the preferred style, as even under seat bars are mutually exclusive to leg steering.

Cheers,
Ray
