you were perfectly right, it was the right pedal, not the left. I still have 
another crank, but for mounting that, I have to change the front frame. The 
chainline will be different. It was my fault: before I started building the 
python, Ididn'nt know anything about bicycle technics, I only changed brake 
pads or tyres on my hornet. So I didn't how different components could be. 

The steel around the BB is 4mm shipbuliding-steel I found on the boatyard where 
my shop is. So the strength is not the conclusion of calculation but incident 
and intuition.
