The jaculus has indeed standard racing bike wheels (27" or 28" whatever you call 622 wheels).

Hello Milan and Welcome to the list,

630 wheels : 27"
622 wheels : 28"

So you have 28" - and I'll have to correct the project page.

While riding the Jaculus i get the sensation that it becomes less stable at speed (30 km/h is the highest comfortable speed). I can think of two explanations:

It might just be that i am still nervous about riding a bike without
a steer at speed.

I fear however that it might be a problem with the bikes geometry.

Don't worry, the geometry seems fine to me. Maybe your seat angle is a little low for a beginner. Take your time in getting used to higher speeds. Several hundreds of kilometers are needed to feel really save with the python. Relaxation is a very important factor, because when you are tense you won't feel the bikes responses.

I am curious to what the deciding factor is for stability at speed.
Is the pivot angle or the trail the deciding factor?

It is a very complex mixture of everything including your own skill.

Cheers and keep us informed about your experiences,
Jürgen.
