I have some pictures, but not uploaded yet. The screws are #6 x 3/8"
Robertson, universal head screws with a small flat washer under their heads.
I pick where I want the scews, and then I drill through the tire from the
outside. This leaves little holes that I can see from the inside of the
tire. I screw the screws and washers in from the inside. Then, I take an
old inner tube, cut the valve stem out, and then slit it all the way around
where it would normally touch the spoke nipples. I put this "gutted" tube
inside the tire, and then slide teh good tube inside of it. I carefully
install the tire so none of the tube is sticking out between the bead and
rim, and inflate it. While the screw heads are round and smooth, I don't
want to take any chances on tube ruptures with only a single tube,
especially on the tires that are 80 to 110 psi.

We generally don't do any riding in the winter, at least so far, so snow
problems aren't an issue for us. These mods are strictly for racing on bare
ice.

The python, to me, handles exactly the same as it did before I put the 2
rear wheels on. You bring it back to the upright position the same way you
would any other python. My friend Marcel rode it, and as he is a bit of a
perfectionist, he said he didn't really like it. I pointed out that the
head tube bearings were dry yet, and I only had loose fitting mock up
bushings in the king pins instead of the HDP bushings tht I would be using
in the end. He said he'd defer his opinion until he had more riding time on
it.

I am too :) I'm also looking forward to this Wednesday as we have access
to the indoor hockey rink for an hour at noon. I'm looking forward to
trying Marcel's ice python with the new grind angle, and I'll have the
python delta tires all spiked up, as well sa everything lubed and installed
properly for the testing as well. I welded up an aluminum fender out of
.050" 7075. It's a little higher than it needs to be but I wanted to make
sure it cleared the tire screws. I'll upload all the pictures to the site
hopefully tomorrow evening as progress on the various projects in time for
the races are coming along nicely. I spent most of today making custom
trike racks to hold the trikes on the back of my van so I can transport 3
trikes to the races. Tomorrow I do final fit on the van, and then get on
the delta to start tying up loose ends.
