sorry for butchering the spelling of your name, JeŽreŽmy, but I'm in too much
of a hurry to go for special characters,
I think that the idea of using a foam core is a good one. See that you may well
be in Germany. Try Obi for some of their purple/pink insulation. It seems to me
to have good gluing characteristics when used with wood and epoxy. If you're
really concerned about it's taking punishment make a layup of 6oz glass /
0.8-1mm veneer / foam core / wood veneer / glass . Try 18-20mm foam. you'll get
a very light and durable seat. You can cut the foam into strips with a
model-builders foam melter wire "saw" or with a table saw or bandsaw.
