I wasn't too worried about what they look like. I just wanted to make them
a little lighter and more portable than they are at present, and as no one
could furnish a good reason to have a big rear wheel, I thought I might as
well switch it/them out and see what negative difference it would make (if
any). While I also thought about the convenience of having two tires and
tubes the same size, I am very shortly going to buy a couple airless tires.
After a couple flats so far, a python is not very "user friendly" with a
flat. I'm going to get a couple from airfreetires.com, and then NO MORE
FLATS! :) I'll let you know how they work when I get them installed.
I finally got the movie(s) converted and made three. One with both pythons,
my BHP and Marcel's. The movie links are at the top of the page.

There's no sound and the quality is reduced to reduce the file size. Fine
details aren't really a requisite, IMO to tell how a python rides in the
clips :)
Lastly, our little track was finally cleaned up enough to put in some runs
and Marcel and I did a couple 1K and 500m passes. He got a flat on his
sidewall (??) on the warmup laps and so couldn't ride his. He rode mine
instead. Anyway, we were hoping for a little better results but I guess 5
hours of shovelling and sweeping had more of a toll than we thought. We
want to go back and use a little driveway patch to smooth out some of the
expansion joints and a few other small details before the snow starts
flying, but we're both pretty happy with the state and smoothness of the
track so far. A few more tweaks and it'll be a prime venue. Our times are
here:
http://georgianbents.org/results.htm#500m, also scroll down a little for the
1K times. We'll be back to see if we can knock the times down and raise the
speeds, hopefully this year too as it's been unusually warm.
