I had about 150km on the python before I felt steady enough to ride around
on the roads a little. Rest assured though, I wasn't anywhere close to
"relaxed" as I tried the roads for about another 150km. Every once in a
while there would still be a crazy zig-zag, or I'd completely forget how
to
turn a corner. As I approached the 400km mark, I felt pretty relaxed and
could enjoy myself. I wasn't worried about cars coming up behind or
towards
me anymore, and I could ride narrow bike paths with two way traffic
without
worrying about running into someone as long as I kept it lower than 35kph.
Hello Robert,
Full ack with Tim: Just keep on trying!
The python is like any other center-steered bike: One has to learn
it from zero. It is just like you were a child and made your first
steps on your very first bike.
After a few hours you can ride straight and make slight curves.
After a few hundreds of km you can participate in normal traffic.
After a few thousands of km the bike feels like a part of your body,
and you feel like a fish in the water.
It helps to have a big empty parking lot. Also never touch your
handlebars and try to steer by feet only.
In your special case I would improve the seat by widening the shoulder
area. Center-steered bikes need a good body contact with the seat.
Good luck and lots of fun,
Jürgen.
