Hello:
I thought members of the list might be interested in following the
progress of my pivot trike project. It's not a pivot bike like the
Python, but more of a lean-steer like the S'Trike. But similar to Python
in that the front wheel drive is connected to the bottom bracket and a
pivot is used to steer.
As some of you know, I have been building a HPV for a possible cross
Canada HPV record attempt. I have a bit of a cycling endurance
background, but NO mechanical background whatsoever, so assistance from
members of this list and the HPV community in general have been
IMMENSELY APPRECIATED!
Here is the current state of my 'proof-of-concept' vehicle. Be
forewarned - this is not a pretty picture. I have hacked apart and
welded this thing so many times trying various geometries and such that
it looks more like Jules Verne's Time Machine than a bike.

I am keeping a record of my daily (or weekly or monthly or whenever)
progress on my web site if you are interested in following along:

I have also started a new mailing list at YahooGroups. If you want to
join, you'll receive an email update whenever I have something new to
report (or just feel like venting or ranting). To join, send a blank
email to:
mailto:HPVtransCanada-subscribe@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
As a subscriber to the HPVtransCanada mail list you will receive
periodic updates and photos of my progress (or lack of such). Feel free
to laugh with me, cry with me - or laugh at me.
The record attempt will happen sometime during the summer of 2005 if all
goes well and I am able to clear some technical hurdles. I want to
leverage publicity of the event to benefit a charity or non-profit. Any
suggestions or comments would be appreciated.
Bye for now!
Greg K
