Hello,
After reading the posts about annealing the alloy cranks for bending, I took
a somewhat less scientific approach. I'm not sure if I actually annealed
the alloy or not.
I put the crank in a vise and just started to heat it slowly with just a
propane. I used a section of tubing large enough to fit over the end of the
crank and I heated the crank just enough to allow me to bend it slowly using
a lot of slow steady pressure. I don't think I actually reached the point
of annealing the alloy.
I'm building two bikes concurrently, one is a python and the other is a LWB
chopper style recumbent. I'll have pics to share in a day or so.
