[pure-silver] Re: under-developed?

fred picker in _The Zone VI Workshop_ was fanatical in his adherence
to HC-110 and Tri X.

There must be hundreds of combinations of films and developers. I
tried many combinations until I received a letter from Liliane DeCock
several years ago. She said that Ansel Adams was making prints from
35mm nagatives that looked almost like they were made from 4 x 5's.
Liliane was Ansel's assistant and an outstanding photographer and
printer. If you've never seen an Ansel Adams print, you may not
know the technical and esthetic capabilities of black and white
  photography.

The film and developer combination that Ansel Adams used was Tri X and
HC110 (Kodak). I have used this combination for several years for
nearly all of my black and white work in 35mm, 120 roll film, and 4 x 5.
