If you need to run the shutter 3 to 5 times to get the speed right, then the
shutter needs
cleaning. This is part of the work requested, and it should have been done.

There is not much grease used in modern shutters. There are also very few
points which need
oiling. With the very small parts used in shutter timing mechanisms, the
"sticktion" of oil
can stop the shutter working. Of the many shutters I have repaired (mostly
compur and
prontor families) in most cases the slow running is due to dirty shutter
blades. To properly
repair this, the shutter needs to be stripped down so that each blade can be
cleaned
individually, and any dirt / oil in the vicinity removed. This is a time
consuming job, and often
people try to take shortcuts. The usual result of these shortcuts is that the
shutter stops operating
properly anywhere from days to a year or so after "repair".
