March 28, 2007, from Lloyd Erlick,

Writing on the back of a print requires flipping it over on a surface.
That's just inviting who knows what to stick to the face of the print. Of
course the surface is clean, it is *always* *perfectly* clean. We're always
perfect ...

I prefer to keep a darkroom notebook with a number for each print. The
number is all that gets written on the print, on the front, in small
letters, at the extreme edge.

regards,
--le
