There was a statistical study that was done a few years back that
challenged that old adage - and found it false. A group of
elementary school students (30) were given open face jelly sandwiches
and told to toss them in the air and see how they landed. The
results were that only 29 landed jelly side down. The 30th one was
stuck on the ceiling.
