Hi !To go at your lecture, I suggest an old Russian Zorki and a luna pro light meter.
Be sure to select one with bottom loading, it will amaze your audience...If you can, go with a view camera.... At least the tripod can make a defensive weapon if you get threatened.... A Canon with it's nice white lens will not do the trick, as it is far too modern.
