Was that just Potassium Permanganate or did you add a touch of sulphuric

One final trick I played around with was developing the image on the
paper, until it looked good, then wiping the whole thing in a potassium
permanganate solution which reduced the image back to a plain white sheet,
and then after washing and squeegee’ing the print, painting it with
developer on a paint brush. When you did this the image magically
re-apeared as you painted and it allowed you to choose which parts of the
image you needed, before the era of scanning and photoshop.
