The upper left is the shooter's fault so it could be the bellows, gobo, or just
something in the room. No idea on the age of the film or any way to find out.
If I assume the box it was sent to me in is what it came from, the date on that
is 9/09, so it's slightly out of date.
I hope I can clean this cr_p off there! Any suggestions? I think I have just
used dish soap and water in the past when something weird like this has
appeared and rubbed it 'tween the digits.
Would tmax rs be a better bet for the balance or d76?

One thing occurs to me, I have had a problem in the past with some outdated
Plus-X sheet film. This film would always come out of the fixer with a rather
thick gummy layer on the emulsion side. It looked something like dichroic fog
but would wipe off. This was specific to this box of film and I never
determined what caused it. While you are using fresh (presumably) Ilford film
it would be interesting to discover if the fog is specific to the film. Its
possible for it to be defective.
BTW, also also noticed that the upper left corner of the negative appears to
be underdeveloped. Is this the case or some artifact of the image?
