[pure-silver] Re: newton ring problem figured out

I guess the only solution is to have the glass re-beveled so that the rough side is in contact with the film base side of the negative, correct?

Correct. That's the whole idea of an AN glass. To have the rough side touch the glossy side of the film. So in most cases the an glass will be the top glass in the enlarger. The emulsion side should be faced down and doesn't need an AN glass. I use AN glasses on both my enlargers. The original one on my Focomat 1c, which are quit expensive now a days. For the 4x6-6x9 enlarger I had them custom made after the newton rings drove me crazy.
