[pure-silver] Re: mounting slides

It's been many years since I've mounted slides but when I did the
cardboard slide mounts had a heat sensitive glue to seal them. The glue
extended into the area of the sprocket holes along the bottom edge of
the film in order to fix the film in the mount.

Rather than masking the slides, I would suggest photographing the prints
*well above* a black background to prevent the background from being in
focus and from receiving illumination. =20

Subject: [pure-silver] mounting slides

I made some slides today of some of my silver prints. I want to mask=20
them, and a book that I read about photographing your own work=20
suggested having slide film processed only and NOT mounted in slide=20
mounts, so that you could mask the background out before mounting=20
them yourself in slide mounts.

I have never done this before. The book suggested Letraline tape as=20
the masking tape, and it suggested slide mounts "with little dots of=20
glue" on the inside in order to hold the transparency while you mask=20
it. It seemed to be suggesting that some slide mounts come with=20
little dots of glue. But I have not seen these in any catalog or=20
camera store. Does anybody know what brand that is, or have any=20
other advice about what kind of slide mount is easiest to use, or=20
even if it is a good idea to mount your own slides?
