When I was using a D2V I had those carriers as well and I took off the frame so
I could more freely position the carrier. Fortunately I saved the screws and
frames so I could re-attach them for the D5.

The original carriers that came with my D2-V also have the raised frame... (I
have several, purchased with a new D2-V in the 1970's.)

The D5 carriers differed in that on the bottom plate there is a raised frame
that settles into the opening where the carrier sits thereby centering the
carrier. D2 etc carriers don't have that so you have to futz w/the placement
so that the carrier is properly centered.

I thought the D-5 used the same holders as the D-2, are
they different?
