Another consideration would be to adapt the drive system from a Besseler
45mxl. An excellent mechanism that is just "add-on" components.  Now that I
think about it I have a "parts Bessie 45 and may have some or all of said
system.  Contact me off list if your interested and I'll dig around a bit.
