[pure-silver] Re: ilford box mis-labelled

I have seen a lot of variation in Ilford's Warmtone FB paper,
some with a creamy yellow base to some with a fairly neutral
bright white base. Specifically, Warmtone paper I buy locally
(San Diego) has a whiter base than the stuff I mail order from
B&H in New York. It's all still a warm tone emulsion, but the
different base gives it different characteristics. It's very
difficult to match a print I made, say, a year earlier.

However, you say the batch you got was blue-ish. Are you using
RC or fiber? If RC, they might have mistakenly packaged some
Cooltone paper in the Warmtone box. Definitely contact Ilford
with the emulsion number and let them know.

Just wondering if anybody has ever seen this: I got a box of 8x10 Ilford
multigrade warm tone, but it's not warm tone. I have another box of 11x14
Ilford warm tone, and you can see clearly that it has a brownish cast, whereas
the paper from the other box is bluish. I guess it got mixed up at the factory
or something.

Anybody else notice anything like this? I looked online and couldn't find
any info about it.
