In my case, in this priority order:
- quality, although E-6 Labs in my area do not suffer from a bad reputation, I
find my results better than the good labs I tried.
- I can develop them when I want which sometimes is a big advantage.
- price, it costs me cheaper than a standard development (and much cheaper than
a pro development) in my area.
- I bought the processor a long time ago for other color work and use it also
for B/W so the investment was already done.

So depending where you live, your level of equipment and your interest in
developing your films, it may or may not be interesting to do it yourself.
