naptha at the hardware store
The word "naphtha" covers a lot of ground - boiling points of 68 to 180F.There is a variety of naphtha used for thinning paint, it may (or may not) be the same as Ronsonol. Ronsonol is a _specific_ form of naphtha, manufactured by Shell oil, and the ingredient in Ronson lighter fluid. Cigarette
Lighter fluid has to evaporate cleanly. The test of the stuff is 1) no residue on evaporation; 2) won't dissolve the camera; 3) will dissolve the goo. "Painter's Naphtha" may well fulfill those requirements, test first as Ace Hardware's naphtha may not be the same as Home Depot's. -- Nicholas O.
