Wow, I didn't realize we had a pro framer on this list!
 
After seeing the framespace samples (actually econospace but it seems generally 
the same), I decided to use spacemaker, which I order in plastic tubes thru my 
framer:

These are made of solid lucite (or something similar), which cannot collapse 
like the hollow s-shaped spacers.
 
I have 2 framed photocollages (no mats) where I used plexi & spacemaker, one 
piece 23 x 32, the other 45x45, I haven't noticed much bowing.  Would you 
choose glass instead for pieces this large?  Seems it would make them 
unbelievably heavy & vulnerable to breakage during transport for exhibition.
