I have an Epson 4990 scanner, which I've had for a couple of years I
guess. This fall I noticed for the first time that there is a kind of
haze on the underside of the bottom glass. You can see it when you
first turn on the scanner. It causes little artifacts in the scan which
can be removed in photoshop; but is there any way to clean this glass?
The haze looks as if it could just be wiped off, if you could reach it.
