If you're talking about B&W film, the loading
procedure is typically where you get rid of dust. For
whatever reason, B&W film attracts dust much more that
E-6 or color neg so right before you begin to load,
blow out all the holders w/compressed air. Then once
you have a sheet in the holder, you blow off the film
before you close the dark slide. This prevents 99.9%
of any dust showing up in my experience. I also store
all my holders in bags for transport or just long term
storage.
