They are probably best stored in polyester or (horrible the thought) acetate
endless sleeves. These provide enought of their own structural stability that
the negative+sleeve could be cut and then stored in pockets or paper envelopes.

One can print even tightly curled negatives. You, of course, need a glass
negative carrier. If the condition of the negatives leaves much to be desired
and has started to show signs that its decomposing you may want to consider
doing some contact dupes. With 35-mm film one can use something as simple as
the Leitz Elda and Maco ORT25c. With rollfilm I'd probably contact individually
onto 6x9cm sheet film (for example, Ilford Ortho).
