I believe Konica and Minolta were bought by Sony. Sony is using their
factories to produce true digital reflex cameras. In fact, their first reflex
is
already on the market for $800, lenses additional.
In film history, Minolta produced the Leica CL. I still use it. A very high
quality compact with an amazing set of two lenses -- 40mm and 90mm -- in their
own class. I never had much luck with a Konica compact C-35, a trap needle
metered fixed lens P&S that didn't last.
