Shannon, I struggled w/that for years till I realized they are actually able to snap in & out of the frame, right in the spot where you want them to be placed. To remove, hook your index finger around the loop where the wire will go, and pull straight up at an angle. The "nibs" which hold it in place inside the track will snap out, and you're all set. To insert, just reverse the operation, putting the nibs into the track and angling the wiring loop so that the whole thing snaps into place. It's a tricky operation, esp. w/o someone to show & explain, but hopefully this written explanation will give the gist of the thing. Perhaps you have a kind local frame shop person who would be willing to take a moment to show you the technique, to eliminate the frustration you have been having. Good luck.
