Actually this was a mistake. Even during WWII era, German emulsions
blended cow bone and pig skin gelatins according to the intelligence
reports. Kodak and Ilford investigators did not get surprised, but
they concluded nearly every report with "their technology and quality
of materials were inferior to general standards in our contry" or
something like that. (And I'm laughing every other time I see this phrase.)
Speaking of intelligence reports, I see "P.R. report" frequently
mentioned in Japanese literature. This is supposed to be like other
reports of postwar investigation of German industry. Does anyone know
exactly what it is and where it is archived?
