The voltage rating of thecapacitor will stay at its rated value only so long as the capacitor is used. I never realised this ! I knew they sometimes leak and usually only last 20 to 30 years or so, but I had no idea of the likely mechanism or how to potentially avert it. I have some old power amps with hundreds of 1000's of micro farads of caps in total in them, maybe I should just turn them on every now and again to help stave of self destruction.... regards Peter Badcock ============================================================================= ================================ To unsubscribe from this list, go to www.freelists.org[2] and logon to your account (the same e-mail address and password you set-up when you subscribed,) and unsubscribe from there. --- Links --- 1 mailto:dickburk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx 2 //www.freelists.org ============================================================================================================= To unsubscribe from this list, go to www.freelists.org and logon to your account (the same e-mail address and password you set-up when you subscribed,) and unsubscribe from there.
