DEAR UNK,
Your assistant reminds me of what I used to say, in my former
incarnation as an advertising and fashion photographer, to my assistants.
"I am quite capable of screwing up my own reputation. I don't need your
assistance in that. I need your assistance in AVOIDING that!"
                CHEERS!

Dear Scott,

     There ya go.

This list knows everything..... because it has already made soooooo many

mistakes.

I know I have. Nowadays I actually welcome new ones as an insight into
the universe. I know the assistant I use for my weddings and outside shoots
has discovered 2 things that I did not believe were possible:

1. He can load a Mamiya C330 backwards and he can load it backwards for 3

films consecutively.

2. He found one evolution that you could do with a Nikon F3 that even the

importers did not realise was possible. Ruined an entire roll of film of a
childrens' party and it took me a day of experimenting to duplicate what he
did - I spent 2 more rolls to duplicate the defective maneouver. I am
actually thinking of trying to use it for an abstract shoot.

Good luck with the toning. 30 prints should either make you and expert
or poison you, depending on how you do it.

Uncle Dick
