[pure-silver] Re: What is a "project"?

Dear Jeffrey,

I think projects have saved me - they have certainly saved my
equipment, which on several occasions was in danger of being thrown into a
concrete pour*.

I used to go out on Saturday afternoons with the 35mm camera to Capture
Life. When Life proved elusive I set out to Capture Beauty. All the Beauties
I met at that time wanted more dinners and drinks than I could afford and I
eventaully found myself poking through the fence at the East Perth Rail yard
and settling for steam engines - North British steam locomotives at the time
had very little life or beauty about them.

I finally ended up just circling the suburbs looking for images and it
was very thin artistically. Nothing doing. It was only when I sat down with
pencil and pad and specifically made a project for myself - colour red,
Morris Minors, Tomato Swamp, etc. that I really got anything done. I also
had to assign a specific number of finished print to myself to get results.

    Uncle Dick

* The chap from the Teamsters Union said the pour was full and could I wait
for the next one....
