[pure-silver] Re: Viradon - cooling print tones!?

It depends very much on the paper you were using Chris. Cool tones are easy
to get with MGIV for example.
How much can you warm it up now? You can use these PS toners as indirect as
well as direct toners - i.e. after bleach - then even papers like MGIV
respond like MGWT does with direct toning. You can control the amount of
warmth by the bleach stage.

Subject: [pure-silver] Viradon - cooling print tones!?

I have just had the experience of Viradon producing cool blacks. I used a
newthe standard dilution for new Viradon for 2 minutes, followed by stop
bath and 30 minute wash.

Normally I get just a hint of warmth in the print but this time it actually
cooled off the print tones.

I can only attribute this to temperature. As I don't want to fog paper with
the fumes, I tone in trays in the back yard. It was pretty cool this weekend
(just above freezing) and I can only think that this has changed the image
colour.

I'm assuming that I can still repeat the toning process to arrive at a hint
of warmth, this time with heated trays.

Has anybody else had similar experiences?
