[pure-silver] Re: These anachronistic historical locations will soon be on tours

I've been a Luddite for a long time. I switched from a handweaving and spinning business to photography in order to make it into the 20th century around the time that the 21st century started.

For a long time I only used 19th century processes like cyanotype, etc.

Wouldn't it be sorta hypocritical to get a digital camera to document this process? I think maybe I should do it with the view camera and make contact prints. The model for my darkroom's "look" is Edward Weston's, after all.

It might be hard to get a tour bus back here, since the UPS man won't even venture past my mail box.

In keeping with my Luddism, I'm going back to my garden to cultivate with a hoe.

You're making yourselves part of history by setting up and maintaining Darkrooms. Perhaps there are grants available to help. Get a digital camera or a video recorder to document your site. Your competition for grants are likely to be blacksmith shops, livery/stables and harness makers.

On the other hand, a gal in California put a clever independent darkoom by converting a cargo-tainer. I don't seem to find it but it solved lots of problems very readily.
