You're making yourselves part of history by setting up and maintaining Darkrooms. Perhaps there are grants available to help. Get a digital camera or a video recorder to document your site. Your competition for grants are likely to be blacksmith shops, livery/stables and harness makers.
On the other hand, a gal in California put a clever independent darkoom by converting a cargo-tainer. I don't seem to find it but it solved lots of problems very readily.
