[pure-silver] Re: Tamiya focus motor (was looking for Omega focus attachment )

Hi John

My initial plan was to fit the supplied crank arm on to the gearbox output
shaft, and fasten the crank arm to the face of the enlarger focus knob with
4 machine screws. To stop the gearbox from rotating, the obvious solution
is to fix it to a bracket that can slid up and down the focus rail. The
motor needs 3v to 6v, which could be supplied via a wire with a 2-way
switch, so I could focus remotely in either direction.

Then I had a couple of further thoughts:
- those 4 machine screws would be a nuisance if you wanted to remove the
device from the focus knob; perhaps velcro might be sufficient.
- an alterative means of preventing the gearbox from rotating would be to
fasten it to a rigid handle, eg a length of dowel, with the wire running
down it to the 2-way switch at the end.

Then I parked the whole idea to fester for a while longer.

By the way, the price I mentioned was in NZ dollars - it costs only about
$15 in greenbacks.

enough. I guess the challenges to getting it to work would making the
connection to the focus screw on the enlarger and supporting the motor as it
hangs off the side of the enlarger, and also making some kind of remote
controller for it.
